Teaching Yoga to Addicts: Showing Up: Friday, September 13, 2013

We began to tap into the many layers of the self with the help of yogi Einstein who said, 'you can't solve a problem with the same mind that created it', and from Svetukatu's story of learning to see the unseen and hear the unheard as told in the 6th Chapter of the Chandogya Upanishad.
Habits live in the unseen, the unconscious, which is one reason yogis are asking us to see more clearly. The invitation is to show up freshly.
We spent our evening tapping the unknown, which required we quiet the mind, and dive deeper than the manos (measuring mind).  This not only takes practice, but as we discovered together tonight, courage, vulnerability, and self trust.
